This M&M (Mature & Motivated) group of Spotlight entertainers was formed in 1990 in recognition of the need to entertain residents in various nursing homes and homes for seniors on the Gold Coast. They now put on shows at many other venues, such as Senior Citizens' Clubs, Probus, View Clubs, Sports Clubs and Church Groups. In 1995 they were awarded a Certificate of Appreciation in the Queensland Premier's Awards.

In 2006 the Girls were recognised in the Gold Coast Bulletin's Gold Coast Honours, with the Entertainment Award going to Pauline Davies, director and driving force behind the group.

Ranging in age from 61 to 81, the Golden Girls put on a one-hour variety show, featuring many magnificent costumes beautifully created by life-member Judy Dautell.
